On the positive side, I've enjoyed the scenery and environments a lot. I just hit things till they're dead then move on. Unnecessary, and the whole type matching does not feel worth the effort to engage in. Action commands feel annoying half the time to pull off, the skill tree feels. Don't ask me what's wrong with it, but it isn't fun to me at all. Lots of invisible walls to force you to traverse a specific way and it just doesn't work for me. I have no clue why I can't jump off the walls around the main town on the upper levels, but that's a thing that's annoying. Maybe I just like to explore too much, but the level design does not help in my desire and did not do a good job at communicating what I could and couldn't do which only caused me to get frustrated when trying to explore the world. Game play wasn't really fun, the world was great to explore till it kept feeling like I could go some place only to discover an invisible wall. As of right now I'm mildly invested in the story and characters and will only be coming back to finish it JUST for the story, as nothing else compels me to continue to play it. I got soft locked just yesterday in the pause menu and had to quit and redo a whole cut scene again because of it, and more just keep happening. I unfortunately did not finish the game and will not be until more updates fix and polish the game up- Because the further I went, the more and more bugs I stumbled upon. I believe the game came out far too soon than it should of, because it's riddled with small and large bugs, such as graphical glitches, soft locks, ect- it really would've benefited from more beta testing before release. The graphics and music are the best part, characters and dialogue second, but after that things start to go downhill. I love Paper Mario and really wanted to like Born of Bread, but nothing mixed well in this recipe of a game. I'm only posting a review to vent- I'm very proud of the creators for getting this far and actually getting the game out in the world,( Which is why I bought it- I want to support them for their efforts because despite everything, I believe they deserve it) but maybe because I expected too much of the game I was greatly disappointed by the product. In it's current state, I wouldn't recommend this game.
